DIY artwork/lighting.

The second DIY post of the day is something I found on Martha Stewart's site around Christmas time. I loved it and thought it would make really nice soft lighting in a room but also serve as artwork....I didn't really see anything Christmas-y about it, except that it involves Christmas lights.
It is a simple idea, and I think I've seen it on a Trading Spaces episode or something. Pretty much, you take a pre-streched canvas- paint it white (or any other color for that matter) and then take an awl and punch holes where you would like the christmas lights to shine through. The pattern that they created reminds me of a dandelion, I think that's why I like it so much!
I also think I would like a big ornate black frame around the canvas...no glass, just the frame. That's just me.
