new kitties are a mess...

So we got a new kitty a little over a month ago. She was a flea ridden stray out on Gallatin Road near Foobar. David scooped her up and brought her home and instantly she was mine...loves to follow me around the house, sit in my lap, sleep at my feet at bed time... I LOVE HER.

But with this new kitty we are experiencing bad habits that our first cat never had. One of the biggest is toilet paper...this cat loves some toilet paper- actually paper towels too now that I think about it. If we leave the toilet lid closed she gets on top and goes to town with the toilet paper as evidenced above. If we leave it open, she gets in and plays (so gross!). Once she gets all the toilet paper off the roll, she manages to get the roll off the ring and then carries it in her mouth like a dog and plays fetch with it. Of course, it's really annoying but at the same time you can't help but laugh. If only this were her only bad habit....she also loves sticking her head in cups to find out what's inside...then uses her paw to tip it over to get the goodness that is inside. Grrr. She also likes to jump on the counters and see what's in the sink for her to have a little treat. Drives me crazy! Her most annoying habit is that she thinks 5 am is wake up time. Even though I feed the kitties when I go to bed which is around 11 or 12... she starts her "meeping" as I call it, bright and early and gets in our faces and tries to find our hands so we'll pet her AT 5 AM!!! I've got a spray bottle that I fill with water and when she starts doing these bad habits I spray her with it...of course, she thinks it's a game. I end up soaking the bedspread instead of her. Oy vey!Oh, and she thinks the bathroom sink is a place to sleep. Strange.....
